So everyone in the electronic dance music community knows that Joel Zimmerman, who goes by the stage name Deadmau5, is one of the most well known and respected producers in the industry despite his knack for social media drama. However the now well known producer hasn't always worked on music, in fact, he was more invested in programming and gaming before he entered the music world. Deadmau5, came from creating a gamer tag name when he wanted to go under the name "deadmouse" but the name was too long and changed it to "deadmau5." Zimmerman hates being considered being labeled as a "DJ" because he feels the term is outdated considering he produces music, mixes and uses cutting edge computer technology for his live performances. The music producer based out of Toronto has laid low on the electronic dance music scene until recently coming out with a new album <album titles goes here>, building a new studio in his home and working on a new live production show.
I've recently taken more of a liking for Deadmau5 as a music producer because of his expertise in music and software technology. Not only does he produce a variety of electronic music from experimental, deephouse and progressive music, he also works on software and technology behind the live visuals of his show. The "cubes" was a show that Deadmau5 had brought on tour with him for a long time, however, not all festivals and venues were cutting edge enough to support it which to me proves how much of a producing genius Zimmerman is.
